2:30pm I talked to Kevin this morning, they made it across the border ok and was waiting for their flight. He called again a few minutes ago and said they just landed in Houston and were off and running to their next flight. We expect them to be in Mansfield inbetween 6:30 and 7:00.

Thank you all for praying for our loved ones in Mexico. So many of you talked to me through out the week and asked how we were doing, if we needed anything, how the team was doing and told me you were praying for us and them. You have no idea what an impact you had on me as I am sure the others that had family members in Mexico. Thank you so much!

8:58am I heard from Kevin again last night, they are all doing great. They have all the drywall finished and hope to do some mudding and painting today!! They are all surprised at their progress. He said yesterday they were able to set up the dining area and have lunch with all the children. What a blessing to sit and fellowship with the children in the building they helped build. Continue to pray, they will be home tomorrow evening hopefully before 7:00.

Pray for Greg Barnes as he travels to Arizona to be with his mother who is having cancer surgery today. Today is also his birthday!

2:40pm I received a call from Kevin this afternoon, all is well. Mandy is feeling better. Everyone is doing great and they are getting lots of work done. He told me to forward any emails from the mbtmexico@yahoo.com address and he will make sure they get distributed. So I will check it often and forward.
9:30am Here's a new message I received from Kevin. I'm wondering if the snake is a real one. LOL

We had another great day. We got the whole upstairs dry walled today and the downstairs well under way. We have been working with a couple of Mexicans guys down here and they are working on our Spanish. The kids have been mostly in school so we don't get to see them much. When they are around, they make up for what time they are gone. The one that put the snake in Gary's pouch last year was scaring Vicky and Michelle with a snake. The ladies got a chance to go shopping today for the kids. They also got to do some mudding with us. They've been staying quite busy. They are still power feeding us. I think most of us are learning to say no more. Otherwise it's like staying with your grandmother. Well that is it for today,I better get to sleep. Love you all. Dad

BTW I still don't know if they are able to get on the internet to check messages, Kevin has been sending messages from our blackberry. So if you sent a message to the yahoo address he may not be able to access it yet, I will have to ask him and let you know.
10:55 pm Finally a message with some news of their progress. Sounds like there is a lot of fun mixed in with work which does not surprise me at all.

Sent: Monday, February 23, 2009 7:39:27 PMSubject: Another day closerWhat a day. We got several rooms fully dry walled today and the finishers we hired got started today. Things are moving right along. Everyone is doing fine. We are all moving like old men right now. many sore muscles right now. Already rissler and young has Daniel blunk getting married by Thursday. They said there is going to be a big Mexican wedding. The Barnes's, and Brent have taken quite a razzen also. I told everyone today that if I die, just ship my body back home and let them know that I ate myself to death. They have fed us so well. It's really hard to work with a stomach the size of a watermelon. I like to eat but this has been torture! Missing everyone there. Talk to you soon. I hope Hannah is feeling better. Miss you girls!
9:12pm Nothing, I've heard nothing from Mexico. Please continue to pray for them, I'm sure the satellite is still down and that's why we haven't heard from them.

Please also pray for the families here, many are sick, have sick kids or received bad news about family members.

9:08pm I received a message from Kevin. They were able to get some work done today inbetween services. The weather was in the 70's. Everything is going good. Mandy Barnes is still coughing but not too bad. Not sure how he got a message through on the blackberry but glad he did.
1:28pm Kevin called this morning while I was at church, the satellite is still down, he will try to be in touch later. So we may not have as much contact with them as we would like but that's ok as long as they are all safe and healthy, a week is not that long. The girls are struggling but a gentle reminder of the ophans that need a place to call their own helps them to remember what this is all about.
7:15 am I received a message some time last night from Kevin that they got there but the satellite is down so no Internet service. Not sure if that is for the duration of the trip or just for yesterday. I hope he will be able to get on line today otherwise this blog will be filled with me crying the blues because I can't hear from my husband...lol

He does have the blackberry so he might be able to climb one of those mountains and send a quick message....I will keep you posted.

Have a wonderful day and you all are in my prayers. I am so blessed to be able to go to church today.

7:39pm Kevin just called they landed in SanDiego ok and all is well so far. They are going to get a quick supper then on to the Walker's.

They had to switch planes in Columbus because of a cracked windshield (a bird hit it) this caused them to be late to the next flight, they did the OJ Simpson (no not his most recent stunt but the one where he runs through the airport from years ago)
10:37am As far as I know everything went as scheduled this morning, everyone was there when I left around 8:25. They should be at the airport by now and waiting for there flight to leave at 11:27. Please pray for our girls, especially Madalyn, she is having a difficult time already, she didn't want Kevin to go and she really struggled with his departure this morning.

Well, he's all packed and ready to go in the morning. I will be praying for everyone on the trip, as well as, those back here. Please keep us in your prayers, especially the girls, they are going to have a hard time without their dad, I think it will effect Rebecca the most.

Kevin has the laptop so you can send emails to mbtmexico@yahoo.com any time.

2/18/09

Hi Everyone!
I started this blog by the suggestion of Sandy Rissler so that we may try to keep in contact with our loved ones while they are in Mexico. I will do my best to keep you up to date on their progress.
They all appreciate your prayers, not only for the ones that went on this missions trip but also for families back home. You can post on this blog or you can email at the yahoo address.
